Willow Gardens join forces with Beech Trees for Remembrance Day
Residents from Willow Gardens care home were guests of honour at an afternoon tea event at Beech Trees, a high-quality provider of support for people with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, on Remembrance Day on Monday 11th November.
Together, they enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea and sang along to traditional music to mark the remembrance ceremony. It also provided an opportunity for both groups to socialise and make new friends.
The event marks follows a recent pumpkin carving session held at Willow Gardens care home, where the people supported by Beech Trees joined the residents to make decorations for Halloween.
Angela McCormack, Manager of Willow Gardens, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the relationship between our two different communities is developing so well. Our residents were both delighted and interested to go to Beech Trees. We are looking forward to see what the future brings as we all get to know each other. The residents are still talking about it! We are planning to invite Beech Trees over for our next music afternoon.
“And that’s why we organised this event. It means so much to our residents.”
