Anchor care homes pass new CQC Covid assessment

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have introduced a new framework designed to assess how well individual care homes have managed the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and their ability to deliver safe care. 

A large number of Anchor care homes have been assessed under the CQC’s new Emergency Support Framework (ESF) and we are proud as an organisation to be rated as managing well.

The framework covers a wide range of areas, including infection prevention and control, availability and correct usage of personal protective equipment, staffing levels and steps taken to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and colleagues.

The assessment takes place over video calls between care home managers and CQC inspectors and involves a detailed questionnaire with video show arounds of the care home. Care homes are rated as either ‘Need Support’ or ‘Managing’.
