  • A Warm and Safe Welcome

A Warm and Safe Welcome

We know you’ll love living with Anchor and we pride ourselves on providing a friendly and safe welcome to new residents.

On this page you’ll find key information about the enquiry process and the steps to move in, as well as COVID-19 safety measures in place that follow government guidelines.

Making an enquiry

To start your enquiry, simply search for an Anchor care home near you. You’ll be able to enquire directly from the contact details on that page.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home or homes that you’re interested in, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules.

Taking a tour

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person, subject to meeting COVID-19 safety guidelines. Simply book a tour with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

We can also provide a virtual show round if you’d prefer. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team. You can also see for yourself how we keep residents safe.

Organising an assessment

We hope you decide that following your visit that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise an assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Moving in

Our friendly onsite team will discuss every area of moving-in with you in advance to make sure you know exactly what to expect, including any COVID-19 safety measures.

This way you can feel confident, safe and welcomed in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be happy and supported in your new home.
Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

Visiting your loved one

We understand how important visits are for everyone and we follow government guidelines in welcoming regular visits from family and friends. We also actively support our residents to have visits away from the care home, and make sure this is always in line with any government COVID-19 guidance.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.
