The role of the Anchor resident Scrutiny Panel is to ask questions, review Anchor’s services and make recommendations for improvements that could benefit all residents.

Current and upcoming projects

The Scrutiny Panel have recently been working to increase their membership, and now have 5 permanent members. They have also introduced different approaches to how they carrying out their reviews enabling them to involve a greater number of residents.

The Chair of the Panel has been working with the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee to align their work and introduce a system to track the recommendations made in Scrutiny Panel reports.

Reviews currently underway look at:

  • Anchor’s magazine for residents - Life
  • The information for existing residents on Anchor’s website
  • Electric vehicle charging points available to residents
  • Guest rooms at Anchor locations

The Panel have meetings as and when required by the projects in their workplan.

Their next face to face meeting is scheduled for 30 April 2025 in London when they will be producing a video to promote their work to share with all residents.

Recent meeting summaries

The last meeting of the Scrutiny Panel focussed on planning for the reviews outlined above, with updates provided by all members.

Mario Ambrosi, Anchor’s Director of Communications and Marketing also attended to talk through plans to cease the production of a dedicated Annual Review for residents and Anchor’s wider approach to communicating with residents to better respond to changing needs and expectations.

Who are the members of the Scrutiny Panel?

There are currently 4 permanent members of the Scrutiny Panel, though they work closely with the Resident Voice Panel and other resident groups to inform their reviews.

The members include residents living in Anchor rented housing and homeownership properties, largely in the south of England. They are currently looking to recruit a member with experiences and views that reflect other parts of the country, though interest from all residents is most welcome.
