Scrutiny Panel

The role of the Anchor resident Scrutiny Panel is to ask questions, review Anchor’s services and make recommendations for improvements that could benefit all residents.

Current and upcoming projects

The Scrutiny Panel are looking to increase their membership so if you are interested, please get in touch.

They have also introduced different approaches to how they carry out their reviews enabling them to involve a greater number of residents.

The Panel has worked with the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee to introduce a system to track the recommendations made in Scrutiny Panel reports. There are now closer links to the Audit and Risk Committee (a sub committee of the Board), with the Chair of the Panel attending a Committee meeting.

Panel meetings

The Panel meet quarterly but also have meetings as and when required, depending on their reviews. 

Recent meeting summaries

The last meeting of the Scrutiny Panel focussed on Anchor’s improved damp, mould and condensation (DMC) process (in line with the Regulatory improvement plan). To give the Panel assurance, key Anchor colleagues provided a detailed update, including a demonstration of the software being using to monitor DMC cases. Members also gave updates on the reviews outlined above.    

Who are the members of the Scrutiny Panel?

The Scrutiny Panel work closely with the Resident Voice Panel and other resident groups to inform their reviews. 

The members include residents living in Anchor rented housing and homeownership properties, largely in the south of England. They are currently looking to recruit a member with experiences and views that reflect other parts of the country, though interest from all residents is most welcome.
