Checking care home quality standards
When choosing a care home it is important to check on quality standards. The established independent regulator for care homes in England is called the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The Care Quality Commission undertake regular inspections of all care homes to ensure they meet government standards and provide safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care. These inspection reports can be found on their website alongside reviews provided by members of the public with first hand experience of the home, which can either identify any areas for concern or help you to feel confident in your care home choices.
You can easily view CQC inspection reports for each Anchor care home by clicking the ‘Read the CQC report’ link in the ‘What our regulator says’ section of each care home information page on this website.
We have also produced a free guide to Understanding CQC ratings, which explains what the CQC is, how they assess the performance of care homes, including Anchor’s, through their CQC ratings, what these ratings mean, and how you can find and read CQC inspection reports online for yourself.
