Our property project manager roles 

We currently have two roles within our project management team: 

  • Project Manager
  • Senior Project Manager

Project manager 

As a project manager at Anchor, you’ll manage investment projects, from planning right through to completion, while ensuring all works are carried out safely and efficiently, to a high standard every time. You’ll coordinate projects that meet regulatory requirements, strengthen governance, and deliver great outcomes for residents, working closely with: 

  • Colleagues 
  • Contractors 
  • Suppliers 

What does a project manager role at Anchor involve? 

As a property project manager, you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Delivering planned investment projects to an agreed cost, time and quality standard
  • Managing supply chain partners and driving strong contractor performance 
  • Developing briefs and turning them into deliverable work packages 
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM, Decent Homes, HHSRS and Building Safety 
  • Overseeing budgets, valuations and financial reporting 
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and governance controls 
  • Promoting inclusive, ethical and customer-focused practice
  • Identifying risks early, escalating concerns and challenging performance where needed 

Senior project manager 

As a senior project manager at Anchor, you’ll play a crucial role in our property team. You’ll take ownership of planned maintenance projects from inception through to completion, while ensuring every project meets cost, quality, and regulatory expectations. You’ll lead and develop a team of technical specialists, working closely with colleagues across the Property & Assets team, and the following wider Anchor teams: 

•    Care 
•    Homeownership 
•    Rented Operational 

What does a senior project manager role at Anchor involve? 

As a senior project manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing customer-focused planned maintenance 
  • Ensuring all projects comply with CDM regulations, Section 20 requirements, Decent Homes guidance and statutory requirements 
  • Managing budgets, valuations and financial forecasting 
  • Overseeing procurement activity 
  • Providing expert advice on contracts, commercial matters and property standards 
  • Developing briefs and converting them into deliverable packages 
  • Monitoring contract performance while identifying risks and taking decisive actions 
  • Driving continuous improvement and an excellent customer experience 
  • Ensuring accurate electronic storage of project documentation 

Skills needed for our project manager careers at Anchor 

Explore the transferable skills and qualifications required for both our project manager and senior project manager roles at Anchor:

  • Strong project management skills 
  • Experience delivering construction, maintenance or investment projects 
  • Experience managing contractors and supply chain partners 
  • Ability to develop briefs and work packages 
  • An understanding of JCT and NEC contract frameworks 
  • Knowledge of procurement routes 
  • Understanding the process of resolving disputes 
  • Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations, the Decent Homes Standard and building regulation requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, valuations, financial reporting and financial forecasting
  • Strong risk management skills: able to identify risk early on and take action if and when required 
  • Able to analyse data to make informed data-led decisions
  • Able to deliver a high-quality customer experience
  • Have a HNC in Construction or equivalent 
  • Have a SSSTS, SMSTS or IOSH qualification, or alternatively be willing to achieve this 
  • Obtain a full UK Driving Licence  
  • Have flexibility to travel regionally when required
