Maria Thornton

Senior Data Analyst

I have worked for Anchor for more than a decade and I currently work in the Business Intelligence team in the Property and Assets Department. I enjoy how my team always pull together to support each other, if it is just a question regarding data or a new discovery in a report we are building. My role focuses on developing dashboards and reports, tracking KPI’s, analysing the impact of various initiatives and performing deep-dive analyses to support all areas of the Property and Assets department. I enjoy the different challenges we face, and I take immense pride in the reports and support we deliver. Although my work is challenging, I feel that I have been given the training, support, and opportunities to develop myself and feel very valued by my manager and my colleagues. Anchor have provided me with opportunities such as my apprenticeship, I am in my final week of my level 4 Data Analyst qualification. I started my career with Anchor in the emergency on call service and now I am developing reports and insights for the business, I feel I have come a long way in just over a decade.

Data Analyst

I joined Anchor just over a year ago as a Data Analyst in the Business Intelligence Team. Supporting the wider Property and Assets Department, my role involves creating dashboards and reports to provide key information and insights into our processes. We are a small supportive remote team who work closely together and often collaborate on various projects. The managers and colleagues are extremely helpful and encouraging in every aspect of my working and home life. We are constantly developing (even at my age!) and are actively encouraged to continue to improve our skills and knowledge by taking various courses, such as training found on LinkedIn Learning or Udemy. We also share knowledge as a team and learn from each-other. In a space of a year, I have learned so much and am looking forward to upskilling further. The role can be challenging at times, but that makes it so rewarding when goals are achieved, and I can honestly say that everyone wants each person to be successful. There’s never a dull day!
