Orchard Gardens care home will be holding a dementia information session on Wednesday 24 May, from 11am.
Staff from Orchard Gardens care home in Bishopstoke Park will be holding the session, where residents can find out about the 100 types of dementia and the support available. Orchard Garden’s Customer Relations Manager Lisa Smirk will be on hand to talk to members of the local community during the session which starts at 11am. She will explain how person-centred care and one-on-one activities can enable people with the condition to still get the most out of life.
Lisa said: “The number of people living with dementia is growing and Anchor is leading the way with training its staff so we can help older people live well with the condition. We want to provide information to the local community because many people are understandably worried about dementia. Anchor has contributed to the Government’s national dementia strategy and we think it’s important to share our knowledge and experience with people living in Bishopstoke.”
The number of attendees for the dementia workshops at Orchard Gardens care home is limited so anyone interested can book a place by telephoning Customer Relations Manager, Lisa Smirk on 02380 645 209.
