A cheque for £735 was presented to the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices by West Hall care home in West Byfleet on Saturday (20 February).

The money was raised following a number of fundraising events led by Anchor's West Hall team over the past year, including proceeds from its summer party and Christmas fair.

Members of the West Hall team were joined by Helen Bryant, manager of Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, for the cheque presentation event at the care home off Parvis Road.

Helen, whose father lived at West Hall, said: “We are very grateful for the donation, as the hospices rely very much on the generosity of local people to help maintain the high standards of care they provide.”

Kate Desmond, home manager at West Hall, added: “We are proud of money we have raised for such a fantastic charity, and will continue to support this important service to our local community throughout 2016. We are really pleased that the funds raised are going to a very worthy cause which will benefit many older people.”

West Hall provides 24 hour residential care for older people, as well as specialist dementia care for those who require it.  The home also offers respite stays.
