Selkirk House have held a double celebration to mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday and the care home’s 30th anniversary.

Everyone in the home got involved in the planning of this fantastic summer party.

Selkirk House Chef Manager Bernard Matthews made a special birthday cake, while the Selkirk Craft Club made a birthday card for the celebrations, which special guest The Lord Mayor of Plymouth Cllr Pauline Murphy, signed.

James Kazer Hospitality Manager said: “This summer party has been a delight. Everyone really got into the spirit and wanted to celebrate both our home’s special anniversary and the Queen’s 90th birthday.

“As well as The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Russell Burt the Plympton Owl Man came along with 10 of his owls, and we enjoyed performances by musical entertainers Ice And A Slice.

"It was a shame the weather didn’t hold off but everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon inside, we put up lots of decorations and the home was a sea of red, white and blue.

"Everyone here at Selkirk House would like to wish the Queen a very happy birthday, we hope she enjoyed her specila day as much as we all did here!"
