Young dancers from the Joanne Ward Dance Academy entertained residents and staff at Moore Place Care Home this week.
Eight children aged three and four entertained residents for almost an hour, to the delight of residents and staff, with a ballet show.
Joanne Ward Dance Academy supports and encourages girls and boys to gain grace, strength, creativity and confidence as well as developing self-discipline, musicality and a joy of dance. The Academy is based in Hersham and was established in 2004, and now has over 100 pupils.
Miranda Morgan, Home Manager said ‘what an absolute joy to see the young children dancing for our residents. So many residents commented that they remembered taking their children to ballet classes. After the show the children talked to the residents which was so lovely to see’.
Joanne Ward, Principal of the Academy said ‘we really want to play an active role in the local community and events like this are a great opportunity for everyone’.
