The Mayor of Eastleigh has praised the staff at Dawson Lodge care home for their exceptional quality dementia care.

Staff had organised a special party for residents and guests to celebrate the home’s new Anchor Inspires accreditation, which recognises its outstanding specialist dementia care.

Dawson Lodge in Southampton is one of several care homes in the country to have achieved Anchor Inspires accreditation, after passing a rigorous assessment.

The accreditation has been developed by dementia experts at Anchor, England’s leading not-for-profit housing and care provider, and is awarded to care homes which deliver the highest standards of dementia care.

Dawson Lodge Manager Mitchelle Perry said: “It was wonderful to have the Mayor of Eastleigh here to celebrate this achievement with us.

“She was very complimentary, saying the residents were obviously well looked after and how lucky they were to live in such a lovely place.

“I am very proud of the team here and all their hard work - becoming an Anchor Inspires accredited home demonstrates our dedication to helping people living with dementia to get the most out of life.”
