Residents from a Ferendune Court care home were visited by Leprechauns to mark St Patrick’s Day on 17 March 2017.
Staff at Anchor’s Ferendune Court in Ash Close wore green hats and garlands and the care home was decked out in Shamrocks and green decorations as part of an activities day to mark Ireland’s patron saint. The staff arranged a pop up pub theme event.
Leslie Stephen, who is receiving respite care at Ferendune Court, said she was really excited about the pub themed party.
“She enjoyed the Guinness and homemade Irish Stew. It was lots of fun and a good party atmosphere at the care home too. It’s like a five star hotel.”
Other residents were keen to get involved in the preparations for the day wearing green outfits to mark the occasion.
Kathleen Baskerville, who has lived at Ferendune Court for nearly two years, said: “This will be the first time I’ve celebrated St Patrick’s Day so I’m looking forward to it.
“There’s always lots of interesting and new activities to try here. I really enjoy the trips out for afternoon, or to the library and the garden centres organised by staff.”
