A resident at Eastlake residential home in Godalming celebrated her 101st Birthday this month.

Doris Evelyn Lucy Fuller celebrated her special day on Friday 12th of May along with her fellow residents and staff from the home.

The day started with the singer Natasha Bekir from Get Happy Productions singing some of Doris's favourite songs, including We'll Meet Again, Will You Be My Sweet Heart, The White Cliffs of Dover and many other songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Doris said; “I thought Natasha's singing was very good and I loved the fact that all of my favourite songs were played. Listening to the music reminded me of when I used to go dancing with my husband Joe.”

Doris was taken out to lunch by her family and then finished the day with a tea party with friends and staff at the home.

Doris was born in Portsmouth at the height of World War 1, a young mother in London during the blitz and was separated from her husband Joe for five years in World War 2. They were blessed with two children - John and Jill. Doris later moved to Dulwich, Addiscombe and then Cranleigh. For the past five years Doris has called Eastlake on Nightingale Road home.
