Eagle Lodge retirement housing scheme in Wanstead hosted an open day in partnership with the Housing Overcrowding and Under-Occupancy team at Redbridge Council recently.

Local council tenants over the age of 55 were invited along to meet the team and residents at Eagle Lodge and discuss the range of housing options available in the area.

The open day provided an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about Anchor’s rented housing and receive information and advice on downsizing.

Eagle Lodge Manager, Viola Stevens, along with colleagues from other Anchor local schemes offered visitors delicious home-made cakes, a raffle and quiz, as well as free information about housing options in London.

Viola commented; “We’re holding this open day so that members of the local community can come along, look around, speak to the people living here for themselves and hear what a great community spirit we have.

“London is a very popular city but it can be difficult to find information about affordable housing. A number of people we’re meeting today are considering relocating to different parts of the country and are interested to know about Anchor’s housing across England.”
