Staff and residents from Clayburn Court care home in Peterborough were celebrating this week after winning first place in Anchor’s regional Christmas cake competition.

Weeks were spent making and decorating the cake at Clayburn Court care home in Clayburn Road for Anchor’s annual Christmas cake competition - and it all paid off when judges crowned them the winners in the South region.

The cake, which featured a traditional Christmas nativity scene complete with three wise men and baby Jesus in a stable, is the third winning creation in a row for Clayburn Court.

Sheila Fielding, Home Manager, said: “Everyone at Clayburn Court always really enjoys being involved in the Christmas cake competition.

"It was a lot of hard work but the result was beautiful and we are delighted and thrilled to have won this award for the thirds time in a row.”
