Local Scouts entertained the residents at Orchard Gardens care home recently, while earning their community badges.

Children from the 12th Eastleigh 1st Bishopstoke Scout Group visited Anchor’s Orchard Gardens care home in Bishopstoke Park Village as part of the care home’s Christmas programme of activities.

The Scouts spent the evening playing board games with a number of residents as well as demonstrating their driving skills on an enormous model train set they brought with them.

Orchard Gardens Manager, Tracy Hibberd said: “We like to have good links with our local community groups and schools and hold regular events, which are much enjoyed by our residents.

We thought the board games and model trains night was a good way to continue the links between the two generations as well as being fun!”

The event with the Scouts is part of our Christmas programme of activities which includes a carol service sung by children from Stoke Park Infant School and a nativity in the local church performed by children from Happy Days Pre School.”
