Tenants from Anchors Housing for the over 55s raised £330.30 for the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital by holding a fundraising event. Tenants, family and friends rallied together collecting items for the tombola stall, which was a huge success. There was also a raffle and selling of cakes, buns and biscuits.
Andrea Holt, Browhead Court’s Manager said: “The tenants hold several charity events throughout year, with monies raised going to all different kinds of charities.
There is of course the social aspect of these events which brings people together and can combat that feeling of loneliness”.
Tenant, Mrs Joan Oliver, who organised the event stated that this cause was special to her because her great grand-daughter had been treated at Alder Hey hospital, for heart problems, unfortunately she passed away, but the care and dedication that she had received from the staff, Joan felt she wanted to give something back.
