Meet Molly Linwood’s therapy dog
Linwood care home in Thames Ditton introduce therapy dog Molly, a wirehead Terrier that visits the home every week.
Joanna Rand who adopted rescue dog Molly at five months old was really please to find another companion after losing her dog Taffa. Joannna said: “No dog could ever replace Taffa, but I quickly fell in love with little Molly.
“Molly and Taffa were completely different dogs with very different personalities. Taffa was stubborn and always had other dogs following after her, whilst Molly is compliant and patient.”
Joanna recognized that Molly’s personality could make her a wonderful companion for other people too and has dedicated her free time to helping others who can benefit from Molly’s love and attention.
As well as spending time with linwood residentsn every Thursday afternoon Molly visits a church in Claygate for 3 hours every week.
Linwood Home Manager Gavin Pathmarajan said: “Since having Molly here at the home she has brought so much joy to our residents. Just being able to play and stroke her and has been a delight for many of them.”
“Molly is a great dog. We would like to thank Joanna and Molly for giving back to the community! The Linwood Team really appreciates you both.”
