How we’re celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
In February this year, Her Majesty the Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
Many of our residents remember the Queen’s Coronation and so the Jubilee will be a very significant event for them. Recognising this, our housing locations and care homes have lots of unique activities planned to make sure the event special for them.
Unique activities planned to engage all residents
Our care homes and housing locations have started preparing for the Jubilee. Colleagues have really put their creative thinking caps on, and everyone is getting into a celebratory mood. From life size cut outs of the Queen to Jubilee themed newspaper sheets for fish and chips, there will be something for every resident to engage with.
Follow along with our Jubilee celebrations
Over the coming week, we will be sharing more of what our locations have planned and updating this page with photos and stories once celebrations are underway.
Our care homes and housing locations will also be sharing their Jubilee activities on their social pages using the hashtag #HM70 and #PlatinumJubilee. We will be resharing these stories across our main Twitter and Facebook pages.
