Residential care

Residential care at a glance
What we offer
  • Warm, friendly environment
  • Quality of life
  • Tailored services
  • Privacy and choice
  • Fully-qualified staff

Anchor has almost 100 care homes across England, offering a range of services to enable older people to get the best out of life.

Our residential care homes offer a warm, safe and friendly environment, where people can maintain their independence if they wish but have access to support when they need it.
We understand that many older people value keeping their independence. We respect that and encourage you to choose how your care is planned and delivered.

Our aim is to retain residents' quality of life. Privacy and choice are high on our priority list and personal care is tailored to meet individual needs.
In addition, to enhance our residents' quality of life we provide a varied range of social activities. These can range from day trips to leisure facilities and places of interest to social events held in the care home, including themed restaurant evenings, arts and crafts sessions, quizzes and regular entertainers.

While our services are predominantly aimed at people aged 70 and above, we will consider people below that age depending on their individual circumstances.

Customers can rest assured that all Anchor's carers undergo intensive training and are required to complete NVQ qualifications.

We appreciate that it is possible the prospect of finding a suitable elderly care home has come about suddenly. Certainly there is a lot to think about and we are here to help. We can provide you with a brochure giving details of the home that’s right for you.

When you go to visit a care home either for yourself or for a relative you will have lots of questions. We have put together a checklist to help you remember the information you are interested in finding out and details you learn from your visit. Please feel free to download and print out this checklist as many times as you need.

To ensure you feel happy about the move to a nursing care home we can even plan for you to make a short stay in the home of your choice, based on the availability of a vacant room and the length of time you would like to stay.

Funding is another issue you may need help on, so do not hesitate to contact us for advice on the funding options and help selling your existing home.
