Anchor has developed a range of Retirement Housing which offers extra support to customers who feel they would benefit from it. The Integrated Care and Housing model brings together the best of Anchor's retirement housing with the added benefit of trained care staff on site 24 hours per day.

Tenants live in self-contained properties, providing comfort, security and independence. Properties usually offer other amenities such as a laundry, hairdressing salon, guest room and communal lounge, while the extra facilities in these schemes allow older people the opportunity to remain living independently for longer:

As circumstances change, some older people may find they need extra help washing their clothes, making meals, dressing and bathing etc. This is where Anchor's 24-hour care team can offer assistance.

The model also gives people who would otherwise face unnecessarily prolonged hospital stays or inappropriate admission to residential care, the opportunity to remain in their own homes.

All Anchor's Integrated Care and Housing tenants benefit from a scheme manager who relieves the pressures of managing accommodation by dealing with the security and repairs, as well as being responsible for managing and  co-ordinating care services. Accommodation also includes Anchorcall, a continually monitored alarm call system which tenants can use if in distress.

Integrated Care and Housing is designed to offer a contemporary housing-based care and support option that meets the needs and aspirations of today's older people. It will maximise independence whilst offering reassurance to those tenants whose care needs have increased.
