Approach to activities
At Orchard Gardens we understand that the activities people carry out in their free time are often the things that they most look forward to and enjoy. Our hobbies and interests are individual to us, they shape the person we are and help to paint a picture of the way we like to live our lives.
That is why we are committed to providing the older people that choose to live with us with an active lifestyle from the outset.
Whether you’re socialising with friends, enjoying the gardens or being pampered in the on-site hair salon, every Orchard Garden resident can enjoy daily opportunities to savour the village environment.
Our home, and the wider Bishopstoke Park village, has a real community feel where people interact with their fellow residents, families and friends, and are supported to continue doing all the things they love.
Orchard Gardens’ first class facilities are complemented by a line-up of daily leisure activities that encourage residents to live life to the full. A stimulating events and activities calendar is organised to match individual residents’ interests, and through our partnership with the National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People (NAPA), we encourage a variety of new and old hobbies.
Painting classes, fitness sessions, gardening and movie nights are just a few examples of the type of activities to be enjoyed at Orchard Gardens.
For anyone that relishes their own personal space, quiet areas and spacious en-suite rooms ensure peace and privacy can be found at any time.
Animal lovers will be pleased to know that small pets are welcome by arrangement with the home manager.
Part of the local community
Our home is also very much part of the local community. A short distance from Bishopstoke Park is the historic village of Bishopstoke, with shops, community post office, two churches and a local pub. At Orchard Gardens we encourage activities that help residents maintain important bonds with other people and groups in the local area and ensure they feel part of the wider community.
