<< Back to News At Home Services head wins award for innovation
The head of a new Anchor business designed to deliver lifestyle advice, care and support to older people has won an award for innovation in home care. Adrian Harding, Head of Anchor Trust’s At Home Services, was awarded the title of Home Care Innovator at the Ceretas National Home Care Awards on 31 May. Adrian set up the first of the At Home Services pilots in Wokingham last year, followed by centres in Yorkshire and north London. The award was given in recognition of Adrian’s exceptional entrepreneurial skills in identifying, implementing and establishing the new business. At Home Services serves people aged 55 and over and offers a wide range of support, advice and practical assistance from alternative therapies, to care, to building works. It’s the newest business from Anchor Trust, which is celebrating its 40th year of providing services for older people. Head of At Home Services Adrian Harding said: "It is a real honour to win this award, but it isn’t just for me, it’s for the whole Anchor At Home Services team. It’s very exciting to be developing this business that enables older people to live the lifestyle they choose in surroundings of their choice; it is about their life, their home, their way." The Ceretas awards were held in London on 31 May and hosted by TV presenter Roy Walker. Anchor Trust Chief Executive John Belcher said: "I am delighted that the innovative work that Adrian and his team have undertaken to get At Home Services up and running has been recognised at these awards. In an ageing society, where the needs and expectations of older people are changing, it is really important that we continue to innovate and to ensure that we are providing services that help older people to get the best out of life." Ceretas is an organisation which represents those who provide home care services. The awards recognise excellence among those who provide vital care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live independently and stay in their own homes.
