We are England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people over 55 and have an ambitious growth strategy and clear vision for the future. Anchor plan to develop 1100 new properties over the next five years and believe our programme of innovative new developments demonstrate our commitment to meeting the changing aspirations of older people.
Newly opened developments
West Hall
In July 2012 Anchor opened West Hall, our new flagship care home in West Byfleet, Surrey.
Offering unrivalled care in luxurious surroundings with state of the art facilities, this £30 million new development enables residents to maintain their quality of life with care personally tailored to meet their individual needs.
In addition to stylish and spacious private living spaces, West Hall offers residents a wide range of activities and facilities, such as a hair salon, library, quiet room, bistro and exceptional landscaped gardens.

Current new developments
Bishopstoke
In summer 2014 we will open our new flagship retirement village; Bishopstoke Park in Hampshire. This village will feature a 48-room care home, close care apartments, for those unable or not wishing to cater for themselves, and 121 assisted living apartments with care and support available on-site. Facilities will include a restaurant, café, library, craft room and wellness centre with gymnasium and therapy rooms. Find out more on our Bishopstoke Park website.
Moore Place
Construction is due to begin in early summer 2013 on another new Anchor care home in Esher, Surrey. This 60 room new development at Moore Place on Portsmouth Road will offer superb person centred care with a strong emphasis on people living with dementia, in an outstanding location, and is due to open in summer 2014.
Southampton
Construction is also due to begin in the autumn of 2013 on a new care home in Southampton. This 72 room new development will offer superb person centred care with an emphasis on people living with dementia and is due to open in the summer of 2014.
Proposed new developments
Anchor also have ambitious plans to develop more integrated retirement villages over the next two years in some of the country’s most enviable locations.
Yateley
Our proposed retirement village in Yateley, Hampshire will feature a 36-room care home, 19 close care apartments, for those unable or not wishing to cater for themselves, and 97 assisted living apartments with care and support available on-site. Communal facilities will include a restaurant, café, library, craft room and wellness centre, with gymnasium and treatment rooms.
