Tenants and staff from two Anchor retirement housing schemes have organised a joint garden party in Cambridge.

Willowbank hosted the garden party organised with tenants from nearby Linnett House on 27 June.

The sun was shining as the tenants were joined by member of the local community as they enjoyed a BBQ, tea and cakes and live entertainment from a local choral society, flute player and youth dance troop.

Stalls were set up selling crafts including woodwork, bric-a-brac, gifts and clothes, raising over £500 for the two schemes.

Willowbank tenant Richard Johnson also set up a stall to raise awareness of the Epilepsy Society, a charity close to his heart, and donated the money he raised on the day to the charity.

Mr Johnson said: ‘’I was knocked out by how well the garden party went. The choir was angelic, the flute player was so laid back, and the dancers charming. I do hope this will become an annual feature. Congratulations on a very successful event.”
