Staff and residents have been to wave fellow resident, Victor Allanbrooke off as he boarded a helicopter at Blackbushe Airport to fly to Cornwall to take part in a family holiday last week.

Viscount Allanbrooke, son of Field Marshal Lord Allanbrooke had been looking forward to his trip with great excitement and said: “I have many fond memories of the Cornish coast, I used to spend every school holiday there as a child, exploring with my cousin, who I am so pleased to be joining again this year. To travel by helicopter is just adds to the adventure!”

Care Home Manager, Angela Slade said: “We are so pleased to be able to help Victor achieve one of his dreams by providing transport from Hampshire Lakes – we drove right up to the helicopter and brought flags to wave and wish him a safe journey and happy holiday. We love making the most of all the individual things our residents do.”

Victor was accompanied on the flight by his nephew and they made a stop en-route at The Museum of Army Flying, Lark Hill.
