Residents and their families joined in the fun at West Hall care home in West Byfleet's Summer Party on Saturday (22 August), where over £745 was raised for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.
Residents and guests visited stalls and toured the award-winning care home before judging the dog show on the grounds at West Hall. Prizes were presented to Lesley Loizou and her Cocker Spaniel, Rosie, who won the waggiest tail competition and Lindy McErlain, whose Havanese, Barney, won the soppiest eyes competition.
Visitors and care home residents enjoyed fun for all ages with live musical entertainment and a ‘catch a fish’ competition, as well as browsing the gift stalls or joining in the tombola and raffle.
Local children also enjoyed a show from children’s entertainer Mr. McDonut, bouncy castle and face painting, while residents and guests even joined them in tucking into the homemade popcorn and candyfloss.
Local business supported the Summer Party, as Costa coffee staff volunteered their help to serve a range of tasty treats, from burgers and hot dogs with triple cooked chips to traditional strawberries and cream.
The West Hall Summer Fair was held to raise funds for Woking and Sam Beare hospices and a total of £745.50 was raised for the local charity.
West Hall Manager, Kate Desmond, said: “Our Summer Fair was a fun-packed family day out and it was great to have people from West Byfleet and Surrey come along, join in and help us raise over £745 for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.”
