Residents at St Christophers House retirement property in Morpeth have celebrated summer with their 2nd annual garden party.
Tenants and staff from Anchor’s St Christophers House in Abbey Meadows enjoyed an afternoon of fun and games in the beautiful scheme grounds yesterday. They made a tasty buffet lunch in the dining room and set up a range of activities on the extensive lawns, including outdoor darts, golf, and boulles.
Visitors enjoyed the traditional hook a duck stall; guess teddy’s name competition and a raffle. Children from nearby Abbey Fields School also held a Tombola and set up a plant stall at the event.
Scheme manager David Sinyard said: “The tradition started last year for the Queen’s jubilee and was so popular that we decided to make it an annual event. We really enjoy the garden party, it really brings everyone together, everybody helps out and we all have lots of fun”.
Tenant Mrs Peggy Emmerson said: “The garden party will be good for us to mix with people from the area as well as families and our friends from Abbey Fields School. It will certainly be a super day!”
