A care home in East Grinstead has been awarded a new dementia care accreditation, in recognition of its person-centred approach and exceptional quality care.
Silver Court in Halsford Lane is one of several care homes in the country to have achieved Anchor Inspires accreditation, after passing a rigorous assessment.
The accreditation has been developed by dementia experts at Anchor, England’s leading not-for-profit housing and care provider, and is awarded to care homes which deliver the highest standards of dementia care.
Home Manager Jane Baxter said: “I am very proud of the achievements of the team here at Silver Court.
“Becoming an Anchor Inspires accredited home demonstrates our dedication to providing outstanding specialist care and our passion for helping people living with dementia to get the most out of life.
“We work with every resident to find out about their personality, past and interests, so that we can create a safe and happy environment for that person.
“A commitment to continued learning and development is something we value highly in Anchor, and I am delighted to see my team here embracing that.”
Anchor Inspires uses 55 indicators to assess performance in four key areas: Memories; Safe living; Activities and Companionship.
The standards of dementia care delivered by Anchor Inspires accredited care homes will also be reviewed as part of the Care Quality Commission (CQC)’s regulated framework. The CQC is the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England.
Joanne Laverty, Dementia Services Manager at Anchor said: “Person-centred care is all about valuing the individual - the Anchor Inspires accreditation emphasises that one size does not fit all, and the team at Silver Court have embedded this into every element of their residents’ lives.”
