Following the success of last year’s Strictly Dancing event in the south, Anchor are this year expanding the competition to all of our housing locations and care homes around the country, and inviting all colleagues and customers to take part.

Last year saw the grand final of the competition take place on 1 November at Anchor’s West Hall care home in Surrey. The finalists performed for hundreds of Anchor residents and employees at a glitzy evening ceremony and were judged by legendary television and radio broadcaster Gloria Hunniford.

The top prizes on the night were presented to Jean Twyman and Craig Young from Orchard Court (Lingfield); Eric and Janice Stevens from Prospect Place (Epsom) and Faith Cordy and Fred Pinder from St Clements Court (Eastbourne). The winners all thoroughly enoyed taking part and haven given interviews describing what the competition meant to them. You can hear why Faith and Craig would recommend people to take part in this year’s event below:

Dancers can be a single Anchor customer; one customer and one Anchor colleague; two Anchor customers or one relative/friend and one Anchor customer. If you are interested in taking part please contact your Anchor Care home or Scheme Manager.

Closing date for entries are 12 September – so get practising!
