Anchor care homes across the South West have knitted hats for Innocent Smoothies and Age UK’s Big Knit.

This year, the homes pulled together to knit hundreds of hats in aid of Age UK. Residents from Kimberley Court, Selkirk House, St Anne’s and Manor Court care homes thoroughly enjoyed the challenge with many unique designs created.

One family member said: “It’s really brilliant being part of something you know is going to be for a good cause. It provides real meaning in my mother’s life.”

One resident at Manor Court, Gwen Light, was very pleased with the 24 hats she made and hopes to beat that number next year.

Not only did residents from the care homes knit hats, but many family members and friends showed overwhelming support and helped knit towards the same cause.

The homes are looking forward to next year’s Big Knit.
