Residents at Buckingham Lodge enjoyed a gathering of local scarecrows in their garden on 30 September 2016.

Aylesbury’s Mayor Cllr Barbara Russell joined residents at a scarecrow tea party today.  Along with the residents of Buckingham Lodge care home, Cllr Russell judged the best scarecrow, all made by local organisations, and a trophy was awarded for the most imaginative scarecrow – after much deliberation it was won by the 4th Aylesbury Guides.  Members of the local community were invited to come to visit our scarecrows and enjoy tea and cake with the mayor, residents and their families.

Resident Brenda said: “I am looking forward to seeing the scarecrows dressed up in bright colours and also enjoying tea with Aylesbury’s mayor.”

Julie Chanel, Customer Relations Manager at Anchor’s Buckingham Lodge care home, said everyone had been really excited about the event. She said; “We organise a lot of different activities here as it’s important for the residents’ to stay active. This time we invited the community and local businesses to join us in celebrating the start of autumn with this scarecrow tea party.”
