Rose Court care home in Rotherhithe will be opening its doors to members of the local community this week as part of a nationwide celebration of the care sector.
Anchor’s Rose Court care home in Lower Road will be participating in Care Home Open Day on Friday 17 June, along with thousands of care homes across the country.
Care Home Open Day is an annual event aimed at encouraging members of the public to see the high quality care in their local care homes.
Residents and staff at Rose Court will welcoming the mayor of Southwark, Councillor Kath Whittam to join in the celebrations which will include a barbeque and entertainment as well as a display of pottery created by the residents as part of an ‘Art in the Park’ project.
The occasion will also be a chance to celebrate the good work achieved by home’s staff in the past year.
Home Manager Patrick Umerah said: “We hold a host of activities throughout the year to keep residents mentally and physically stimulated. Many of the events involve bringing the outside community into the home including our friends from ‘Art in the Park’ who have worked with our residents to make some magnificent creations”
