A hard of hearing dog from Broxbourne has been shortlisted for a Best Pet award. Daisy, who lives at Anchor’s Queen Elizabeth Court in Turnford, was nominated by Kath Smith for being a faithful furry friend.

Almost 300 nominations were sent in for the Happy Living Awards run by Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit care and housing provider. The awards were launched in August with six categories: Green Fingered Customer, Best Neighbour, Extraordinary Talent, Grandparent of the Year, Community Champion and Best Pet.

Daisy’s owner Kath Smith said: “I am over the moon. Daisy is my faithful friend and guardian, waking me up, looking after me and keeping me safe.

“She certainly brings happy living to me and my neighbours at Queen Elizabeth Court so it would make me very proud if Daisy were to win this award.”

A customer panel will be coming together later this month to judge those shortlisted, and winners of the six categories will be announced in December.
