Residents at Palmersdene welcomed an unusual guest into their care home on Monday 5th October.
One of the miniature ponies from Pat A Pony came to visit the home, spending time in the communal lounge with residents and even managing a ride to the first floor in the lift.
Ian Short, the Home Administrator, said that this was an excellent form of therapy for residents. They were able to pat and touch the pony, which allowed a number of them to reminisce about previously owning horses and ponies or interacting with them as part of their jobs.
The pony who visited the care home was said to be exceptionally well trained and even sported sparkly, green hoof oil paint.
