Orchard Gardens care home at Bishopstoke Park hosted an Olympics themed party to celebrate the opening of their new garden, with special guest Francis Benali on Friday 5 August.
The garden at Orchard Gardens care home was under construction for several weeks with the residents waiting patiently to see the finished results.
Over 60 residents, families and guests enjoyed an afternoon of Olympic themed fun including giant garden games, a raffle with some incredible prizes and live entertainment in the form of Team Leader Hollie Thompson performing her very own style of soul music.
Former Southampton Football Club legend, Francis Benali very kindly gave up his time to cut the ribbon and declare it officially open. He stayed for the entire day, chatted with residents and staff and even handed out raffle prizes to the lucky winners. The event was an enormous success and we raised a total of £150 for our residents’ amenities fund.
The residents are very much looking forward to using their new garden on a regular basis. Now all we need is some sun!
