Moore Place care home in Esher raised over £180 for charity by taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 25 September.

The chef at Anchor’s Moore Place care home on Portsmouth Road prepared coffee, cakes and other tasty treats to sell in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.  A raffle was also organised with lots of great prizes.

All money raised will be for the Macmillan Cancer Support, which supports people with the condition and their families.

The Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Jan Fuller, came to the coffee morning and spoke to everyone who attended. The Mayor said: “Anchor’s Moore Place team are fundraising for such a worthwhile charity and I am passionate about supporting this coffee morning.”

Miranda Morgan, Home Manager at Moore Place, said: “The coffee morning was a real hit with the local community with just under 100 people attending, while raising much needed funds for the charity.

“Anchor often works with Macmillan and we know the fantastic work their nurses do.  We feel proud that we have raised this money for such a worthy charity – and we all enjoyed the coffee and delicious cake in the process!”
