Tenants from Chapel Green, Pudsey retirement property have so far raised £145.00 for the Leeds General Infirmary Oncology department by making and selling Loom bands.

Anchor Location Manager, Carol Pollard said: “The latest craze has not only captured the imagination and creative side of our younger generation but the older generation too. Jeannette Wright who moved into Chapel Green two years ago started to make loom bands and came up with the idea of selling them for 50 pence each to say thank you to the team who looked after her husband Terence, who has recently been treated for a brain tumour at the LGI. She said: “I like getting involved in activities in the scheme, and like the fact that we were raising money for such a worthwhile cause, I am very grateful for all the care my husband received and am so pleased at how well the sales are going.’’

The loom bands will be on sale at all social events within the scheme, including coffee morning Tuesday at 10.00am and bingo evenings on Tuesdays at 7.00pm, everyone is welcome.
