After massive fundraising efforts, staff and residents at Elizabeth Court care home in Caterham are very pleased to have a new mini bus.

Home Manager Jean Williamson said: “It’s taken nearly 6 years of fund raising to get our mini bus but together we have finally done it.  I am over the moon.

“The team have been fund raising every way possible, we held a charity auction and have done everything from wash cars to sponsored swims!"

Muriel Gibbons, Hospitality Manager at Elizabeth Court said: "The mini bus is going to be really useful, it will enable us to do a range of practical and short distance trips more easily, like take residents to the local supermarket, garden centre and to hospital appointments.

“It will also allow us to be more adventurous and spontaneous with our day trip planning. Since we got the mini bus this month all the residents have been planning for a range of spring and summer excursions.

“Now if the weather is bright we can decide on the spot to take residents out to make the most of the sunshine.”
