Residents and staff at Nelson Lodge care home in St Neots have learnt about bird watching this week.

On 30 January Trevor Gunton very kindly came and gave a special talk about Paxton Pits Nature Reserve and the birdlife at the nature reserve.

The talk was part of the home’s activities to mark National Bird Watching Week, which is organised by the RSPB each year.

Cliona Pritchard from Nelson Lodge said: “Residents really enjoyed the talk by Trevor, his knowledge and passion for the birds was really interesting.

“This talk was part of our ongoing regular events programme designed to bring different elements of the local the community into Nelson Lodge and to enable residents to see that they are important part of the St Neots community.”

“We also work with the Coffee Pot Association and a small number of their members join us weekly for our Love to Move sessions run by Kim Hall.

“We welcome anyone wishing to find out more about the home and what we do to get in touch or pop in for a coffee.”

The event was also attended by St Neots mayor, Cllr Derek Giles and Mayoress Sandie Giles as well as Dot Morfett, President of St Neots Rotary Club.
