Anchor’s Moore Place Care Home in Portsmouth Road, Esher participated in Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June, along with thousands of care homes across the country.
Residents, families, staff and visitors celebrated the Open Day with a Falconry Display in the morning, watching different birds of prey flying around the garden. The afternoon was then enjoyed with a delicious tea whilst listening to Paul Bettley who entertained everyone with songs from different eras. Paul was presented with a cake to celebrate his birthday.
The occasion was also a chance to celebrate the good work achieved by the home’s staff in the past year.
Home Manager, Miranda Morgan said: ‘We hold a host of activities throughout the year to keep residents mentally and physically stimulated. Many of the events involve bringing the outside community into the home. Over the next few months, Moore Place will be welcoming the choir of the local primary school to sing to residents and families, there are also other entertainers coming to the home to sing, as well as organising events centred around sporting events such as Wimbledon Tennis and Henley Regatta.
‘Care Home Open Day is part of this packed activities programme. We’re really proud of what we have achieved over the last year. We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the fantastic life our residents have here’.
