Residents from Anchor’s Manor Court care home in Efford have enjoyed special croquet sessions at Stoke Damerel Community College as part of an initiative to help raise awareness of dementia.
Year 7 and 8 students at the local school have been holding monthly dementia croquet sessions as part of a programme called Through Hoops to Hope, set up by Andrew and James Creasey.
Gina Hill, Hospitality Manager at Manor Court care home in Efford said the sessions were extremely valuable for the residents she accompanied to the school. “One of our residents just cast the frame she usually uses aside and got stuck in – it’s lovely to watch.”
