Elaine Ede, location manager at Anchor’s Castle Hall retirement property in Hull was named runner-up for the Stewart Harris Award on 15 January 2014. This award recognises Hull citizens for charitable work and commitment to their local community. Elaine, who has been working at Castle Hall for 6 years, raised over £2000 for the homeless through coffee mornings, raffles and sponsored events.
“I feel very honoured and grateful to have been nominated. What I do for the community is purely for pleasure. It makes me so happy to help others and I am currently looking for my next project to support” said Elaine.
Catherine Holmes, district manager, is also delighted for Elaine and Castle Hall: “Elaine's passion for Anchor, Castle Hall and our customers is second to none. Her nomination and recognition within the local community is well deserved and very humbly received. I really hope that this achievement inspires her to continue with her passion to help other people and encourages her colleagues and customers to make a difference in their local community”.
