Tenants from Anchors Housing for the over 55s raised £309.02 for Macmillan Cancer Charity by holding a fundraising coffee morning and raffle.

Tenants rallied around, and persuaded their family and friends to bake cakes, buns, and biscuits for the event. There were various games, including; guess how many 100’s and 1000’s were on a picture cake – which added to the fun. The raffle was a huge success.

Andrea Holt, Browhead Court’s Manager said: “The tenants hold several charity events throughout year, with monies raised going to all different kinds of charities.

There is of course the social aspect of the coffee morning, which brings people together and can combat that feeling of loneliness”

Tenant, Mrs Eunice Spencer, who helped sell the cakes, stated “I love helping out at these charity events, I really enjoy raising money for such good causes”
