Residents from Bilton Court care home in Wellingborough are regularly looking at new ways to communicate with relatives and friends.
However one resident took it back to basics recently as she wrote a letter to her younger sister.
Carol Staple, aged 92, who has lived at Bilton Court for two years penned a letter to her sister to tell her all about life at the home.
Letter writing is a regular pastime at Bilton Court with both residents and relatives getting a lot from the activity. Residents feel a sense of achievement and their loved ones feel comforted by their words and finding out what they have been up to.
Home manager, Samantha Horne said: "Carol really enjoyed spending time writing her letter. It's a great activity for our residents to get involved in, it helps them to keep in touch with others from the comfort of their own home and it allows families to find out what they've been getting up to. We are now eagerly awaiting a letter back."
