Residents from Holmpark care home in Edgbaston kicked off their Christmas celebrations on Thursday 5 December as part of Anchor’s Brighten Up Your Local Community events. Children from Chad Valley Primary and Infant School were invited to design decorations which were placed alongside the residents own designs on the Christmas tree.
Ruth Savage, Holmpark’s oldest resident aged 103, was given the honour of switching on the Christmas tree lights. She was absolutely delighted at the opportunity and also spent some time looking at the children’s lovely decorations.
All activities, including ones at Christmas are so important to the residents of Holmpark. Pearl Moore, manager at Holmpark, said: "It’s important to organise meaningful activities for our residents as these boost their mental and physical well-being as well as being fun!"
