The Vice Chair of Hampton Parish Council, Cllr Sharp, joined Anchor’s Operations Director, Tim Seal, and LNT staff to celebrate the final roof tile being placed on Clayburn Court, Anchor’s newest care home being built in Peterborough.
Councillor Marion Sharp participated in a ‘topping out’ ceremony which involved placing the final tile into the roof of the building, marking the momentous milestone in the construction of the care home.
She also enjoyed a tour of the 64-bed home, which includes a hair and beauty salon, quiet and social lounges on each floor, a café and landscaped gardens.
Ahead of the home’s opening in autumn 2015, Anchor is looking to recruit over 40 staff to Clayburn Court in the next month and over 80 people once the home is fully occupied.
Marion Sharp, Vice Chair of Hampton Parish Council, said at the ceremony: “I feel residents will be very happy and well cared for here – I’m overwhelmed by how light and spacious the rooms are. It will be lovely to have the home so close to the school and the leisure centre, bringing all ages in the community together. I look forward to visiting Clayburn Court again when the build is complete.”
Anchor’s Operations Director, Tim Seal, commented: “This is a proud moment for Anchor and it’s wonderful that Councillor Sharp has joined us to celebrate this milestone in the construction of what will be a fantastic care home. It’s exciting to see how Clayburn Court is developing and to show everyone what the home will be like when it is finished.”
Christine Cooper, Managing Director for LNT Construction who are building Clayburn Court, added: “We are delighted to be working with Anchor on another fantastic new project. Clayburn Court is a high-quality care home in a brilliant location, designed to meet the needs of older people and dementia residents with state-of-the-art facilities and en-suite wet-rooms throughout. This is our second development for Anchor, and we are proud to be working together to bring people happiness in later life.”
Clayburn Court, on Clayburn Road, will provide 24 hour care and support for older people as well as specialist dementia care. The home is part of Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people.
