Barnfield care home in Horley will be holding a dementia carer’s group for members of the local community, to share their experiences and find out about the support available. The first session will be  on 11 May.

Anchor’s Dementia Lead Tanya Clover will be on hand to talk to the group during the session, which runs from 2.30pm until 4.30pm.

Barnfield's Home Manager Josephine Gbadamosi said: “The number of people living with dementia is growing and Anchor is leading the way with training its staff so we can help older people live well with the condition.

“Anchor has contributed to the Government’s national dementia strategy and we think it’s important for the carers of people living with dementia in Horley to have this forum to share their areas of concern, positive experiences or just to listen to like minded people. We are also inviting carers to come along with the person they care for, as there is a day centre on site that offers a range of activities.”
