Deputy Mayor, Cllr Keith Sharpe and the Deputy Mayoress, Christine Wheeler, were guest of honour at the official opening of Clayburn Court’s new tea room and general store.

Staff, residents, families and friends had all been working hard to completely refurbish our coffee shop to create a ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ themed Tea Room and General Store complete with old style till. The project was part of care home group Anchor’s ‘Anchor Inspires’ Dementia Accreditation programme.

‘We wanted to create a safe, fun and entertaining environment for all the residents who live here at Clayburn Court’ said Home Manager, Sheila Fielding.  The organising committee called themselves the ‘Last of the Summer Winer’s’ aiming to make it look like the tea room where Compo, Clegg and Foggy met to plan their adventures, and we all hope that lots of new adventures will be planned there too!
